About António Guimaraes Pinto
António Guimarães Pinto holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Classical Studies from the University of Coimbra’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and a PhD in Latin Literature from the University of Minho. His research focuses on Portuguese humanism, a matter on which he published many academic works with special regard to the life and work of Dom Jerónimo Osório (translations, essays, and academic dissertations), Diogo de Paiva de Andrade (critical introductions, notes, translations, and a vast anthology of his entire body of work), António Luís (translations and critical study), André de Resende (translations), António Pinto (translations and historical research), and Erasmus (translations). He has also published in the field of local historical monographs (related to Braga) and on purity in literature (poetry and narration).
