A Commentary on Aristotle’s ‘De Anima’ as part of the Coimbra Jesuit Course (1592-1606). This volume is dedicated to the translation, edition, explanation (explanatio) and questioning (quaestio) of books I and II of this Aristotelian work, mostly dealing with biology, the senses, the sensible and intelligible knowledge.
This is the first bilingual edition (original Latin text and Portuguese translation) of the original commentary by Góis. It is published by the Coimbra University Press as the fourth volume of an overall project of translation of the entire Cursus Conimbricensis. More volumes will appear thus in the next months. Stay tuned!
