“Escritos sobre escravidão” (“Writings on Slavery”) is a new publication (203 pp. in Portuguese), by Lúcio Álvaro Marques and João Paulo Rodrigues Pereira. It collects several modern works (16th-19th century) on slavery, mainly from Jesuit authors, which were unpublished or difficult to find. The whole book can be downloaded in PDF on the Editora Fi’s website.
Lúcio Álvaro Marques is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences (DFICS) and in the Masters’ Program in Education (PPGE) at the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM). He is a Member of the Laboratório de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais (LAFICS / UFTM) and coordinator of the research group Pesquisa Políticas de Ensino na Filosofia Brasileira, which debated and produced this book.
João Paulo Rodrigues Pereira is a Professor at the Faculty Dom Luciano Mendes (DLM) and PhD student in Education at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP). He is the Coordinator of the research group Moventes Ideológicos and teaches at the Mariana Seminar (DLM). He is member of the UFOP’s Research and groups Formação e Profissão Docente (FOPROFI) and História e Historiografia da Educação
(GERAES).
