This book deals with the issues, the problems and the solutions that Suárez’s iusnaturalistic philosophy poses and offers to human beings and society as regards the notions of freedom, law and power. As Suárez’s principle and starting point was human freedom, this volume shows that, in his work, natural law, which is due to God the legislator and is one with human reason, as well as civil law, which is the result of human power, has the task of governing the actions of people so that they may be useful to the individual, the citizen and the State; but they also to make possible a political and social organization whose morality achieves the common good and the protection and defense of human rights.
